<\/a>\u00a3348,000 so far! \u00a0Our initial fundraising aim was \u00a3380,000 so that is an incredible achievement – 92% of the target raised! Many thanks to all our supporters.<\/p>\nUnfortunately, costs have also risen. \u00a0A while back, we revised our fundraising aim to \u00a3460,000, which puts us back down to 75% achievement, but in fact\u00a0the target will probably have to increase further.<\/p>\n
We are currently working on firming up all the costs in more detail. \u00a0Some aspects have worked out to be less than our initial estimates. \u00a0The main things\u00a0that look to be a lot more expensive are:<\/p>\n

- Our two main staircases will have to be custom built for around 65k – about \u00a340k more than anticipated;<\/li>\n
- our ventilation system will cost about \u00a345k – about 30k more than anticipated;<\/li>\n
- and our foundations will cost \u00a360-90k which is about \u00a330-60k more than anticipated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
These changes are partly due to\u00a0the initial unknowns of a pioneering building, and partly because the building has developed beyond our initial sketches in order to be fit for purpose.<\/p>\n
